Architectural Light & Magic #1 Bigg Market Video 01

This video is from walking around Bigg Market on Saturday armed with my mobile phone camera. It begins to highlight a number of elements which make up the area. I intend to create one which also shows area throughout the day (including night) to get an idea of the activity and gauge what I can use as a basis for responsive design. The music is by try^d who I found via a Creative Commons site which allows artists to licence music for creative use and distribution freely. (Video is YouTube crossed with mobile phone camera quality)

I enjoyed watching the video you created. I’m guessing with your mobile :) I like the effects you’ve put in place e.g. the slow motion, much better than a high quality high resolution stream. This pulls out all necessary aspects of your site and hides the rest. It’s a filter of visual information. It’s hard to give people a feel for a site using this method but you pulled it off.

Thanks :)
I am working on something more realistic now to give a better idea of usage of space at different times (with a higher res camera too). More documentary than MTV this time

As the site is in flux, static representation fails to capture the environment as it changes. You could take comparitive photos etc, however the choice of image etc can be subject to intepretation. Saying that video is not an objective medium. The next video is a comparitive walkthrough of the Bigg market comparing 11AM with 11PM - more documentary though and less edited for MTV
I will also use more traditional methods as well - the question is in determining the correct mode and time for the appropriate media - not technology for technology's sake
