The Site is going to move to the Bigg Market but as the sketches below are generic anyway - they are still relevant.

This is the blog for David Gillespie's Architectural Design Thesis at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. The goal is to provide documentation for myself and others of the development of this work and to allow feedback and disucssion of ideas acting as a "live" design diary.

A move of site......
you say your work is generic for all sites. Is this possible? Are you also proposing that adaptable/responsive archtecture can transform relative to its location. There are more than just environmental issues here. Im looking forward to seeing more.
The Mystery Shopper
Its Adjaye's Idea store but I can see the connection between the two aesthetics.
I think my design needs to be responsive to site and situation (people and interactions are an aspect of the situation). There is an interesting question of specificity and how a building should respond to the changing nature of a site which is def a good one. I like the idea of a generative seed which can be grow in different places based on different environments into different buildings... I am thinking more archigram in the concept though

im seeing a theme of evolution in that reply. The old to new, the visual connection between the two. Then of course time is an issue. I think to question why your building needs to respond is critical to your thesis. There are lots of reasons
The basic premise is to engage with people to a greater extent. Be it with changing programme, different times of day/uses. The building is intended to be user centric and therefore the changability in the design is an extension of human interactions with each other at different times of day etc..
